Rules for Weapons and Props

Weapons
Per rules of the University of Akron, NO WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS. That being said, some weapons will be allowed for Masquerade Walk-ons and Photoshoots, provided you have them inspected and tagged first.
*The only exception to this rule are Security Officers of UAPD.
All weapons and Props much adhere to the following rules:
- No Moving parts
- Not able to fire a projectile
- Must have non-removable orange, red, yellow safety tip
THE FOLLOWING ARE PROHIBITED FROM THIS CONVENTION:
o Airsoft
o Pellet
o Air guns
o Dart guns
o Nerf guns
o Cap guns
o Paintball
o Real guns
o Crossbows
o Live Steel Weapons of Any Kind!
** Commercial purchases must stay in container purchased in and be immediately taken to owners vehicle.
Props
If you have a prop that is not attached to you cosplay/body, as long as it cannot be construed as a weapon, then you do not have to have it tagged by security/staff.
All props longer than 48 inches will be allowed on a case by case basis (meaning you need to take it to Security and have it tagged).
