Cosplay Policy By Yoko Wiland on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 8:25pm Rules for Cosplay:
All Cosplays must adhere to the following rules or Cosplayers will be asked to either change clothes or leave the convention. We want this to be a family-friendly event, so to ensure that, the following rules must be followed:
There will be no nudity tolerated. If there is a Cosplay that staff feels is in danger of revealing genitals and/or nipples, the Cosplayer will be approached.
Nipples must be covered (i.e. by clothes, bandaids, pasties, petals, etc.). This rule applies to both sexes, Male and Female. This rule applies to all gender identities.
Footwear: All Cosplays must have footwear. If the character is cannonically barefoot, please use sandals, toeshoes, etc.
Skates and rollerblades are prohibited indoors, by University Policy.
Skateboards, scooters, etc. are not allowed to be used as anything but props while indoors.
Refer to the Weapons Policy by Security.
No Cosplay should protrude further than 18” from the body of the Cosplayer.
Anything further than 9” will require a handler that must be provided by the Cosplayer.
Posing for a mock fight will be acceptable for photos.
There will be no violence of any kind tolerated at this convention. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your removal from the convention, and the repossession of your badge.
Please ask before taking someone’s picture! This gives them a chance to pose for you, to personalize the photo, or the chance for them to tell you that they are not comfortable with their photo being taken.
Remember: Cosplay =/= Consent.
