Rules for Cosplay:
All Cosplays must adhere to the following rules or Cosplayers will be asked to either change clothes or leave the convention. We want this to be a family-friendly event, so to ensure that, the following rules must be followed:
Nudity:
There will be no nudity tolerated. If there is a Cosplay that staff feels is in danger of revealing genitals and/or nipples, the Cosplayer will be approached.
Nipples must be covered (i.e. by clothes, bandaids, pasties, petals, etc.). This rule applies to both sexes, Male and Female. This rule applies to all gender identities.
Footwear:
All Cosplays must have footwear. If the character is cannonically barefoot, please use sandals, toeshoes, etc.
Skates and rollerblades are prohibited indoors, by University Policy.
Skateboards, scooters, etc. are not allowed to be used as anything but props while indoors.
*You will be asked to put these items in our hold room or in your car
Weapons:
Refer to the Weapons Policy by Security.
Large Cosplays:
No Cosplay should protrude further than 18” from the body of the Cosplayer.
Anything further than 9” will require a handler that must be provided by the Cosplayer.
Body Paint:
Remember to seal any body paint.
You may be asked to leave or remove the paint for your body by security if the paint is not properly sealed.
Masks:
Please remove any masks when speaking to con staff members, University of Akron student union employees, and when entering any shops.
Mock/Play Fights:
Posing for a mock fight will be acceptable for photos.
There will be no violence of any kind tolerated at this convention. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your removal from the convention, and the repossession of your badge.
Pictures:
Please ask before taking someone’s picture! This gives them a chance to pose for you, to personalize the photo, or the chance for them to tell you that they are not comfortable with their photo being taken.
Remember: Cosplay =/= Consent.

Per rules of the University of Akron, NO WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS. That being said, some weapons will be allowed for Masquerade Walk-ons and Photoshoots, provided you have them inspected and tagged first.
*The only exception to this rule are Security Officers of UAPD.
All weapons and Props must adhere to the following rules:
- No Moving parts
- Not able to fire a projectile
- Must have non-removable orange, red, yellow safety tip
-Nothing weighing more than 10 pounds
-Nothing longer than 6 feet
*Security digression may be used on a prop by prop basis
THE FOLLOWING ARE PROHIBITED FROM THIS CONVENTION:
o Airsoft
o Pellet
o Air guns
o Dart guns
o Nerf guns
o Cap guns
o Paintball
o Real guns
o Crossbows
o Live Steel Weapons of Any Kind!
** Commercial purchases must stay in container purchased in and be immediately taken to owners vehicle.
